VICTORIA LONG is a multi-hyphenate filmmaker based in Toronto, Canada. She graduated from York University's BFA Film Production Program in 2015, where she specialized in Directing, Cinematography and Screenwriting. Working predominantly as a Cinematographer and Director, she has also worked as a Producer, Creative Producer and Story Editor. She has worked on dozens of productions including music videos, documentaries, fiction films, and web series.

In 2017-2019, Long was DoP on the popular Canadian web series ‘Barbelle’ (Boss&Co/KindaTV), on which she also directed two episodes and acted as a series Creative Producer. In 2019 she was DoP on Nancy’s Workshop (CBC/Cane Sugar Filmworks), a short documentary which depicts a workshop in Montreal for young black girls struggling with their natural hair. The documentary was an official selection for the 2020 Hot Docs Film Festival and won the Hot Docs Audience Award for Short Documentary.

In her work as a music video Director she often acts as DoP as well, keeping the shoots intimate and allowing her to move quickly on set. Her music video work has premiered on platforms such as The Fader, Noisey, Grammy’s Global Spin, and AQNB. Her cinematography for such fiction shorts as ‘Moon Dog’ and ‘Lovers, Leftovers’ has been screened at The Canadian Film Fest, Reelworld Film Festival, InsideOut Film Festival, and QueerX Film Festival among others.

Long was DoP on feature documentary The Climate Baby Dilemma (CBC/90th Parallel Productions), which looks at growing concerns around climate change and reproductive choices. The film screened on CBC in 2022 and won the Golden Sheaf Award for Best Documentary POV at the 2023 Yorkton Film Festival. It was also nominated for Best Direction at the 2024 Canadian Screen Awards.

Long served as a Producer and Story Editor on feature film I Don’t Know Who You Are (Black Elephant Productions), which was an official selection at TIFF 2023, BFI Flare Film Fest, and Glasgow Film Festival, among other festivals. She was then Creative Producer and Story Editor on feature Son of Sara (Black Elephant Productions), which premiered at Blood In The Snow Film Festival in 2025, and is currently on the festival circuit.

Echo, a short fiction film on which Long served as Writer, Director, Producer, and Editor, is currently screening at festivals. It has screened at the 2025 Curtas Festival Do Imaxinario in Spain, 2025 Jagran Film Festival in India, 2025 Blood in the Snow Film Festival in Toronto (where it was nominated for Best Short Film), 2026 Available Light Film Festival in the Yukon, and the 2026 Muestra Intergalactica de Cine in Mexico. It is currently scheduled for it’s US premiere at the 2026 Beverly Hills Film Festival.
